Ryan grew up playing in Acton MA before he moved on to Cardigan Mountain and then went to Winchendon School. After Prep Ryan went on to play for Tampa Bay Jr Lightning in the USPHL before going to college at Bryn Athyn.
Ryan was coaching with Boston Hockey Academy before coming on board with the Knights.
